The ICTP South American Institute for Fundamental Research (ICTP-SAIFR) is a South American regional center in the city of São Paulo which organizes activities in all areas of theoretical physics [more info here]. ICTP-SAIFR was created in 2011 as a collaboration between the São Paulo State University (UNESP), the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) in Trieste, Italy, and the São Paulo Research Funding Agency (FAPESP).

ICTP-SAIFR is located in the building of the Institute for Theoretical Physics (IFT) and shares professors and infrastucture with the IFT.

IFT is the graduate-level physics department of São Paulo State University (UNESP) which consistently receives the highest national rating and offers Masters and PhD degrees in theoretical and high-energy experimental physics.

Perimeter Institute is a leading world centre for scientific research, training and educational outreach in foundational theoretical physics in Waterloo, Canada [more info here].

Perimeters Scholars International (PSI) is a master’s-level course in theoretical physics at PI [more info here]. Students at PSI earn a Master of Science from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada.

In 2015, Perimeter and ICTP-SAIFR/IFT-UNESP signed a cooperation agreement to create a strong international collaboration with the intention to establish academic, scientific and technical cooperation between these two institutions.

The Wolfgang Pauli Center (WPC) is an interdisciplinary research center jointly operated by DESY and the University of Hamburg, dedicated to advancing fundamental research in theoretical physics. It fosters close collaboration across particle physics, quantum field theory, cosmology, and related areas, providing an intellectually vibrant environment that supports cutting-edge research, training, and international exchange.

DESY (Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron) is Germany’s national research center with campuses in both Hamburg and Zeuthen.

The theory group is internationally renowned for its contributions to fundamental physics

The University of Hamburg (Universität Hamburg, UHH) is a leading public research university in Hamburg, Germany, known for its strong focus on interdisciplinary research and excellence in the natural sciences.

The Cluster of Excellence Quantum Universe, funded by the German Excellence Strategy, is an interdisciplinary research initiative based in Hamburg that brings together leading scientists in mathematics, particle physics, astrophysics, and cosmology from the University of Hamburg and DESY to investigate the fundamental structure and origins of the universe.
